A few things I wish to do
This is just a little riff on what Andy wishes to do, but relating to myself. Since Andy has so kindly given me this platform to grow my side hobby, I feel it only right I let him (and everyone else) know what to expect in the first quarter of 2020.
So firstly I should introduce myself: I’m Matthew. Credited as ItsScottish as that’s my “persona” if you will. You may know me from some previous works I have done here such as the most recent Sniper: Ghost Warrior work or that dissertation known as Escape from Tarkov. Initially knows as just “Scottish” because all my friends were English and apparently that was easier to remember. Two syllables guys – for both. That slowly because “ItsScottish” because Skype was the main VOIP we used and when I joined that’s the first words shouted. Call me whatever you want though.
You see this format? Its very simple; It’s also a great indication at a glance if I did the work. Andy does similar but I will usually have a disclaimer section or a PC specs section. All reviews by myself are PC Orientated. This stems from where I initially post my reviews, Steam. This is also why some reviews are short. Character caps really stifle creativity, that being said: if a review from me is longer than Paradise Lost – It’s not on Steam.
I want to wrap this up quick so you know what to expect. I stream whenever I can and these streams are not intended for the easily offended. All my reviews are also pseudo-scripts for any video review I post. My reviews try to give you an idea as to what you should expect but performance may vary. If you haven’t heard from me in a week then expect an essay soon. I listen to every criticism and take it as advice – got a journalist I should thank for that.
The point of the post
Currently I am working on 2 pieces – simultaneously. Darksiders: Genesis and the Steam Controller. Listen I said I play on PC not that I don’t use controllers. To me this seems almost symbiotic: Darksiders plays better on a controller and I have not played any other game with this controller. This is fresh on fresh. I would also like to do a small series on starting streaming. Has it been overdone to death? Yes – Yes it has, but I’d like to tailor the experience to everyone: Getting started, growing your production and a few pitfalls people fall into.
This year there there are only 2 games I wish to actually play and review: DOOM ETERNAL & RESIDENT EVIL 3. Before these releases I hope to also publish my review of the previous instalments. I am most hyped for DOOM Eternal however. I’ve got the game logo stained in my skin ’till I leave this mortal coil. To even top that off: I’m 25, my second console was the PSone (Sega Dreamcast was great for a whole 2 weeks), The first game I played… DOOM… Don’t dig into, psychiatrists tried that when I was 8 – they failed.
This year expect some older game reviews from myself as well as taking a chunk out of the current 10 Years On series. Here is a list of what I plan on doing for the series:
- Darksiders: Genesis
- DOOM Eternal
- Metro 2033
- Dragon Age: Origins
- Medal of Honor
- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
- Any 2009 game ported to PC in 2010!
That list is spicy. The memories! Now some things on this list may not get done – Many of these games hit the 10 year mark… last year. Staggered PC releases can be problematic for someone like me but, if I get the go ahead – List will be bigger. Keep an eye out. Until then, I’ll see you very soon!
Edit: Only gone got that go ahead I did!
